Countertop Seams

The industry standard for seams is 1/8 of an inch in thickness. Our seams are closer to 1/64 of an inch. How do we do it? By traveling to trade shows and constantly attending seminars and collaborating with fabricators from across the world, we have been able to acquire the tools, technology, and techniques in order to provide the best looking seams on the market today. We take the extra effort to “dress” our seams rather than just using “sawcut” seams. This action allows for the seam to look razor sharp rather than raw and “chipped out”.

You can see the difference in quality. Just take a look at the pictures below. Also take notice of how we match the natural movement of the stone as much as possible.

This is the type of seam you will typically find in town from other fabricators.

Keep in mind that we avoid seams if at all possible. Everyone likes the look of a countertop with no seams. However, in those situations where a seam would be required we pay the utmost attention to detail in making the seam appear almost invisible.

We also do not use prefabricated pieces of stone for kitchens. The use of prefabricated pieces increases the number of seams in a kitchen and typically is a sign of lower quality work.

At the shop, we also invite customers to come and layout their kitchen with us after templates are done. We want you to be a part of the job throughout this process, because it is you after all that will be living with the finished product. When cutting the slabs, usually the seam pieces will not come from the same slab. Therefore is it very important to try and match the movement and grain as much as possible. This is another reason why we like for our customers to be involved with the layout of their project.
